Dr. Moorhead, Psy.D., LLP grew up on a farm in northwestern Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. degree in psychology. He worked for nine years in addictions, juvenile detention and the adult prison system while earning a M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling and Education from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. He then completed M.A. and doctorate degrees in psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in Los Angeles. This included a year long internship at Huron Valley Psychiatric Center in Yipsilanti, Michigan.
He continued to work within the Department of Corrections in Jackson, Michigan after his internship as a psychologist for three years where he gained further experience working with individuals struggling with sexual and chemical addictions. He then taught Psychology and Counseling at Crown College in Minnesota for three years before serving as a pastor of counseling and adult discipleship for the past ten years at various churches, the most recent being Port City Church in Muskegon, Michigan. He is looking forward to his continued work with couples, addictions work and individuals dealing with emotional, relational and spiritual issues.
Dr. Moorhead and his wife Amy have six children. They enjoy camping, exercising, sports, and family outings.
