Sara is a master level counseling student at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She is under the direct supervision of clinical director Kristine Koetje-Balder. In addition to this internship, Sara has over 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families as an elementary school teacher and full-time children's ministry director.
Sara is committed to excellence and uses a variety of evidence based counseling approaches. Her goal in the therapy process is to offer a safe, compassionate, and judgment free space for her clients to develop greater self-awareness and to walk in the truth about their lives. She values the experience and strengths of each client, and works collaboratively to provide the necessary support and tools needed to journey towards healing and change.
Sara's life and practice are rooted in Jesus Christ. She is passionate about clients growing and understanding their faith. Her mission is to help clients live more fulfilled lives, with a greater sense of identity, purpose, and hope.
Sara is currently accepting new clients ages 8 through adults.
