LPC
Vickie is a Master’s level graduate of Spring Arbor University, and she has received her LPC from the State of Michigan. She loves people and is passionate about working with emotionally damaged and broken individuals. She believes that her faith-based approach will guide individuals in healing in the totality of their mind, body, and soul. Vickie has 30 years of social work experience working with families, and children. Specifically, youth who have transitioned, or who are in the foster care system. She has counseled women in crisis, youth and families facing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, separation issues, sexual abuse, vocational counseling, and issues relating to family dynamics. Vickie is passionate about her faith and believes that helping others find their foundation is imperative as it gives them something solid to build their life on.
As it relates to diversity in counseling, she believes that counselors should be as diverse as the people they serve. It is her hope that she can bring diversity to the practice and change some of the ideas and reluctance that many people have regarding the therapeutic process!
Although a native of Texas, Vickie has spent all her adult life in Michigan, and when not working Vickie enjoys spending time with her small family, especially her two grandchildren. She is active in her church and community and is currently leading the Total Man Media Prayer Ministry. She also has led focus groups for girls ages 6 to 18, (Essence Ladies), and women ages (Total Woman Book Club) 18 to 89.
