Cortney Ellist, OTR/L-Occupational Therapist
Cortney is certified through National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy and is licensed by the state of Michigan. She earned both her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Grand Valley State University.
While completing her Master’s Degree, she gained experience in outpatient pediatric clinics, school based settings, community and home based settings that serve the geriatric population, as well as outpatient neurorehabilitation clinics. Following the completion of her degree, she has worked in both acute care and outpatient pediatric clinics.
In addition to her professional experience as an OT, she has a sister with special needs who has been her inspiration to advocate for individuals with various abilities and provide a safe, nurturing environment for these individuals to reach their fullest potential. She believes the best outcomes are reached through OT sessions that are play based, relationship driven, and highly individualized to meet the needs of the child."
