Nicole Brummel, LLPC
Nicole is a limited licensed counselor who specializes in treating children ages 3 to 11. As a therapist, it is her belief that healing and maximal growth and development are found only through addressing the core issues underlying any mental health concern. It is only by addressing these core issues (anxiety, trauma, sensory needs, emotional dysregulation, etc.), that a child can attain lasting healing and positive transformation. Nicole utilizes a “bottom up” therapeutic approach, working directly with the child and family system to identify the core problem that is causing symptoms. She strives to establish a strong therapeutic alliance with child and parent and works collaboratively to construct an individualized treatment plan that is developmentally and culturally appropriate for each child. Nicole utilizes play therapy and cognitive behavior therapy, along with co-regulation and regulation strategies, to provide a strong emotional and developmental foundation for each child to build upon. She has experience helping children who struggle with anxiety, ADHD, autism, and trauma.
Nicole earned a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s degree from Calvin University.
