Krista Brennfoerder is a client-centered therapist whose aim is to create trust and a strong therapeutic relationship in order to help create change in your life. She hopes to help you explore identity, values, and purpose as you heal from whatever suffering or brokenness you are experiencing.
Krista has a diverse work history that has helped her develop skills and gain experience working with a variety of individuals and diagnoses. Krista’s passion is working with men and women struggling with grief, depression, trauma, OCD, childhood sexual abuse, sex addictions, anxiety, codependency, eating disorders, life transitions, and divorce. She is adept at counseling individuals, couples, and families.
Krista enjoys facilitating groups and teaching as well. She has led multiple growth groups, including groups for women with sexual abuse history and a boundaries group. She has spoken at conferences on topics of grief, identity, singleness, boundaries, spirituality, anxiety, and marriage. Krista also enjoys supervising newer clinicians towards their hours for internship or licensure.
Krista is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College following her undergraduate studies in Psychology and English from the University of Michigan. She has worked as a counselor for a church and a community mental health non-profit in Missouri and- most recently- a private practice in the Chicago suburbs.
