With almost two decades of experience in the mental health field and additional specialization in medical social work, Joško brings a wealth of knowledge to his practice. He holds certifications in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and TEAM (Testing, Empathy, Agenda-Setting, and Methods) -CBT Level 1, utilizing evidence-based modalities to enhance your therapeutic journey. Holding two master’s degrees in social work and business administration, Joško brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and business acumen to his practice.
Joško's cross-cultural background shines through in his practice, underscored by his international work experience, active participation in cross-cultural teams, involvement in cross-cultural relationships, and enduring identity as a U.S. immigrant. This experience allows him to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive care. Fluent in English and Croatian-Bosnian-Serbian, Joško offers therapy in these languages, ensuring effective communication and understanding for clients who prefer therapy in their native language.
Beyond his therapeutic work, Joško is a part of the adjunct community at Grand Valley State University, where he teaches undergraduate and master's classes. You can find him investing in new social workers through courses like Social Work and Difference, Diversity and Privileges, Integrated Methods, and Field Placement.
